The Room 1 reading group 'Gummy Bubble' made some tsunami models and presented what they had learned about tsunamis to the class.
Did you know tsunamis can be caused by:
- Undersea earthquakes
- Undersea landslides
- Meterorites
- Storm surges
- Volcanic eruptions
- Nuclear eruptions
All of the above cause vibrations. It is the vibrations that travel through the water and make a tsunami.
Paige and Taahnisha modelled what a meterorite making a tsunami looks like. Eruera and Leyland modelled what an undersea landslide causing a tsunami looks like. Charmaine, Charlotte and Jacob showed what the aftermath of a tsunami looks like.
